Verbal and Non-Verbal Interactions in Politics and Conflict

16:30-18:00 – Verbal and Non-Verbal Interactions in Politics and Conflict (Lecture and Seminar, 2 credits)

Lecturer: Dr. Tsfira Grebelsky-Lichtman

Course Description

The course deals with verbal and nonverbal interactions in politics and conflict. This framework will be based on a holistic approach to the study of interpersonal and group interactions, which addresses both verbal and visual aspects. This approach is based on a number of assumptions: first, that in each face-to-face interpersonal and intergroup interaction, two messages pass: one verbal and the other nonverbal. Second, in each interpersonal or intergroup interaction, all participants play an active role in its character and development. The course will examine each aspect of the interaction and the connections between them, at the theoretical, methodological and practical-practical levels, while focusing on the contexts of politics and conflict.
