Focus on new courses

The Swiss Center takes pride in its continuiously innovative academic program, which we regularly update in order to reflect the rapid pace of change in our world and in the field of conflict resolution. Here we highlight a new course that was introduced into our curriculum this past year.

Verbal and non-verbal interactions in politics and conflict

Prof. Tsfira Grebelsky-Lichtman

This course deals with the subject of verbal and non-verbal interactions in politics and conflict. The course is based on a holistic approach to the study of communication situations with a verbal and visual aspect. This approach is based on a number of assumptions: first, in each face-to-face communication, two messages are passed: one verbal and the other non-verbal. Second, in every interpersonal interaction, all participants play an active role in its character and development. The course will cover each type of communication and its relationship, both theoretically and methodologically. In addition, the course will examine both channels and their relationship in relation to a variety of political situations and conflict. The situations will be tested in both theoretical and applied aspects, while watching videos.
