Department of communication and Journalism
Social Science, room 5418
Originally from the UK, where I studied English Literature at Cambridge
University, I did my graduate and doctoral research in Communications at The Hebrew University. My research interests include communication and cultural theory, visual media (especially photography and television), consumer culture, the media and ethical concern, and the aesthetics of digital interfaces and digita images.
I am currently working on a large-scale empirical research project about
iconic news photographs and Israeli collective memory.
In the Communication Department I teach core MA courses on communication
theory and new media, a range of elective graduate and undergraduate courses,
and supervise doctoral students in my research fields.
